Canopy Vista Los Sueños, Herradura Costa Rica

Safety

The first and most important aspect in safety is the communication that is way all of our guides are 100% bilingual and have the certifications of the I.C.T in English the Costa Rican Tourism Board.

As you experience the Canopy you will notice that with our specially designed safety breaks there is virtually no way for you to get hurt.

We use only the best climbing equipment, with the brands such as Black Diamond, Petzl, Singing Rock and Blue Water.

Also for the main cable we are using a ½ inch cable that is more than what canopies normally use

Our platforms are average of 3×3 meters and can hold up to 15 people, but we only put maximum 8 people at once on the platform.

  • Guides receive 3 months of full time training before being allowed on their own. Training consists of safety and Canopy Tour operations, first aid and client service.
  • We follow all manufacturers’ recommendations for the use and care of equipment and material.
  • We maintain documented inspection and maintenance program of all elements.
  • Participants are always connected to safety lines around trees when participating in the Canopy Tour. You never stand loose at a platform. - The tours will not run when the staff considers that the weather conditions are not the proper ones for running them.
  • No one under the effect of alcohol, drugs or any other substances that affect reflexes or attention will be allowed on the Canopy Tour.
  • Clients with medical conditions that are likely to interfere with their enjoyment or safety, or clients weighting over 260 pounds will not be allowed on the Canopy Tour.
  • In spite of all that we do to ensure your safety, in an activity such as this we cannot predict nor completely eliminate all of the potential risks.
